Kate DeRoche, MA, Ph.D.

Kate DeRoche is a research and evaluator consultant with The Knopf Company. Hired in 2003, some of Ms. DeRoche's responsibilities include grant writing, and creating evaluation designs, measurement tools and implemented procedures for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention programs.

Ms. DeRoche earned her Ph.D. in Applied Statistics and Research Methods from the University of Northern Colorado in 2009. Ms. DeRoche focused on the advancement of methodological research techniques (quantitative and qualitative) applied in biomedical and behavioral health. Her experience includes a variety of research and evaluation projects in the domains of mental health, HIV prevention and teen pregnancy, youth resiliency, cancer research, substance abuse prevention, and adolescent neuropsychology development.

Ms. DeRoche served as a research and evaluation specialist at The Mental Health Center of Denver developing and managing evaluation/research projects, the creation of psychometrically sound measurement tools, conducting advanced data analysis, assisting in grant development, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate interns.

Ms. DeRoche's professional affiliations include the American Evaluation Association, Behavioral Science Volunteer Program, sponsored by the Center for Disease Control and the American Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association.

Ms. DeRoche received her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University, and earned her Master's in Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuropsychology from University of Northern Colorado. Ms. DeRoche is also a lecturer at the University of Colorado at Denver.
